How to Create an Adobe Digital ID Signature

Response:

  • Some College processes and procedures, such as submitting documents to the Academic Affairs and Standards Council (AASC) might require you to add a timestamped Adobe Digital ID signature to your PDF. Remember, once you sign it you should not make any further changes to the PDF document.

Steps:

  • Open the PDF you would like to sign
  • Make sure you are signed into Adobe Acrobat or Reader by clicking on the circle in the upper-right hand corner. You may sign in with your firstname.lastname [at] saintpaul.edu Adobe Account, not your Minn State email or Star ID.
    1. If you need to create an Adobe account, please put in a ticket to the IT help desk as soon as possible with the reason for requesting the account listed as your need to edit PDFs.
  • Click on the signature box you need to sign, it usually has a red box or small red flag on or around it

  • Click on Configure New Digital ID

  • Select Create a new Digital ID, then Continue

  • Select Save to File, then Continue

  • Enter your name, department, and Saint Paul College email, then continue

  • Enter a password, confirm it, and then click save. Please write down this password and you will need it to sign!

  • You may now use your new Digital ID to sign th edocument

  • Save the PDF
