Any videos you share with students or staff must be properly captioned. Kaltura MediaSpace will automatically generate captions for your video, but you still need to edit them to be correct. This is easy, just follow these steps:
- Log in to Kaltura MediaSpace
- Click on your name in the upper-right corner.
- Choose “My Media"
- Open the video you would like to caption.
- Underneath the right side of the video, open the “Actions” drop-down menu, then click on “Caption & Enrich” .
- Under Existing Requests, you should see at least one machine-generated captions file. Click on the small pencil button "Edit Caption" on the right hand side
- The ‘Closed Captions Editor’ will appear. Each paragraph of the machine-generated transcript is available for you to edit. You can pause, rewind, and increase the speed. To edit, just click in the appropriate box on the left hand side (not under the video) when and where the text appears.
- Make sure you click the “Save” button at the top right of the screen when you are done.
