Why can’t I log into D2L Brightspace?

Question: 

  • How do I log in to D2L Brightspace using my student or employee credentials? 

Steps:

  • Go to the D2L Login Page
  • Enter Your Username
    • Use your institution-provided username.
  • Enter Your Password
    • Use the same password associated with Minnstate Credential (similar to the one you use for school email/Microsoft 365.).
  • Click “Sign In”
    • After entering your credentials, click the Sign in with StarID button.
      • You'll be required to use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) similar to your experience logging in to Microsoft 365.

  • Troubleshooting Login Issues
    • If you get an error when you try to log in, confirm that your password is working. You can do this by logging into eServices eservices.minnstate.edu/eservices/login.html
    • If you receive an “Invalid credentials” error:
      • Double-check your username and password for typos.
      • Ensure Caps Lock is off.
      • Try logging in from a different browser or clear your cache.
  • If you forgot your password, click the "Forgot StarId Password" link  Or you can reset your StarID password (https://starid.minnstate.edu/selfservice/recover/pw).

Summary:

Add a short summary of the article content, address who this article may apply to if it is specific group. (This is inherent within the Team Dynamix Client Portal, meaning the summary will have it's own field and does not need the header of 'Summary:)

After you save the new article make sure to verify permissions and link to any other related knowledge base articles that would assist with customer self-help.
