Dear Supervisors,
Please review the attached XLS document and accompanying video (13:45) for a detailed review of the Windows 11 & Inventory update for FY26 for our employees. The list has been put together based on inventory and recommendations. Also attached are the Lenovo spec sheets for the new devices we are introducing to the college. These were on display at the Tech Road Show.
From left to right:
- Who’sGettingANewComputer identifies who is getting a new computer or keeping their current one and performing an update to Windows 11. The list is sorted by Supervisor.
- Sheet 2 is my working list/details
- Hardware sheet identifies the model and configurations
- ComputerDefault_Standard identifies the standard “set” provided to employees or by “use case”
- Default device Assignments identify configurations for devices
- Standard Software identifies what will be installed on each type of device
- MasterSoftwareCatalog identifies the different software we’ve identified on all of our computers
- Specialty Software identifies the name of the software and defines the use. (We’ll use this as the start of our software glossary)
- Model_Warranty Info identifies the model and specifications of the computers that helped to identify which computers were to be replaced
- Naming Configurations identify how the new computers will be named
My ask: Please filter the list by supervisor to identify your direct reports. Review the DEVICE SELECTION column (column K), which identifies whether the employee is receiving a new device or an update. Users without a device –No Device can be updated to another option; however, most employees without a device designation may be at a hotel space or shared computer. Also, when considering device types, we need to consider the business need for the devices. The T14 is more than adequate for most users.

RETURN your responses to me (the spreadsheet) by EOD Thursday, April 17. I will share the final list with employees after the Town Hall on 4/18. No more changes can be made to the device selections after 4/25 as the order needs to be placed for new devices. My goal is to have new devices here by July 1. **Final approval for device procurement is dependent on final numbers, budget, contract & lease agreements, and EC approvals.**
Thank you so much for your support with this major project. The next step after informing users of what is happening with their devices is to share information regarding Windows 11 updates, which begins on Monday, April 21.
